Job Summary
To ensure quality clinical documentation for the inpatient population, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will evaluate documentation practices, educate medical staff, and collaborate with coding teams while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in targeted reviews of medical/surgical DRGs based on quarterly reports
- Educate medical staff and hospital personnel on effective documentation practices
- Monitor and track progress of the Clinical Documentation Program and support new service line implementations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in nursing or a related clinical field
- Two years of experience in the clinical field, coding, or care management
- Current South Carolina RN license or relevant certification (RHIA or CCS)
- Strong clinical background with familiarity in medical terminology and regulatory requirements
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams
