Job Summary
To support quality healthcare delivery, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will evaluate clinical documentation, assist in education for medical staff, and ensure accurate documentation for inpatient populations while working during day shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in targeted reviews of medical/surgical DRGs based on quarterly reports
- Educate medical staff on effective documentation practices and communication techniques
- Monitor progress of the Clinical Documentation Program and assist in implementing new service lines
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required; Bachelor's in nursing or a related clinical field preferred
- Two years of experience in a clinical field, coding, or care management
- Registered Nurse, Registered Health Information Administrator, or Certified Coding Specialist certification required
