Job Summary

To support accurate medical record coding, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Coder will assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses and procedures while adhering to official coding guidelines and HIPAA regulations in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately assign codes to medical records based on ICD-10 and CPT standards
• Perform data entry tasks and engage in daily assignments to reinforce coding skills
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal policies while coding

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in coding (e.g., CPC, CCS)
• Basic knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10 and CPT
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
