Job Summary

To ensure precise coding of medical records, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Coder will accurately assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services while adhering to official coding guidelines in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and conditions based on patient medical records
• Utilize ICD-10 and CPT coding systems in compliance with established guidelines
• Collaborate with the Health Information Management Department to resolve coding issues and maintain coding accuracy

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in health information technology or related field, or 5 years of coding experience
• Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) is required
• Minimum of 2-3 years of coding experience with an Associate's degree
• Familiarity with coding software and strong analytical skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
