Job Summary
Overseeing medical staff and analyzing utilization data, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Medical Director will work remotely to develop and revise medical policies, serve as a resource for providers, and research emerging molecular technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Supports operations through case reviews and develops claim adjudication criteria requiring medical judgment
- Educates staff and the medical community on medical policy and program administration
- Conducts research into new or controversial medical procedures and technologies
Required qualifications
- Doctorate degree Medical Doctor (MD) with an active state medical license
- Current board certification in a recognized specialty
- Five years of postgraduate experience in direct patient care
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with medical and utilization review techniques
