South Carolina Licensed Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Reporting to the Liabilities Manager, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Senior Accountant will manage the review and maintenance of all MUSC leases, ensure compliance with GASB and FASB standards, and perform pension and other post-employment benefit calculations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review and maintain all leases, coordinating with Accounts Payable for payment setups and presenting lease accounting calculations
• Responsible for month-end entries related to interest, leases, and pension/OPEB, ensuring timely and accurate workpapers
• Calculate Pension and OPEB, collaborating with Payroll for quarterly retirement contribution submissions and reconciliations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
• Four years of work experience in accounting, business, audit, or finance
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting with healthcare-related experience
• Preferred: MBA or CPA designation
