South Carolina Supervising Physician

Job Summary

To support a team of Nurse Practitioners, the part-time Independent Contractor Supervising Physician in South Carolina will provide oversight for one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams, ensuring compliance with state guidelines and documentation procedures.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants during compensation and pension exams
• Ensure all exam documentation is completed electronically and submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
• Adhere to state guidelines set by the Board of Nursing throughout the examination process

Required qualifications:

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree with experience in general medicine
• Active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Primary care experience is required; prior VA or compensation exam experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Basic computer skills for electronic documentation
