Job Summary
To provide medical management for patients in a remote setting, the full-time South Dakota Licensed Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with psychiatrists and other staff to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals in acute behavioral health situations, including emergency departments and crisis stabilization units.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct acute assessments and recommend appropriate levels of care for patients presenting with suicide and violence risks
- Place direct admit orders for patients requiring inpatient behavioral health support and assist with rounding and evaluations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop Crisis Response Plans and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
Required qualifications:
- Active PMHNP license in South Dakota or Minnesota
- Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program
- Master's or Doctorate degree in nursing
- Federal DEA and/or State DEA licensure required within 9 months of hire
- Completion of state-specific certification/education within initial and renewal time periods
