Southeast Underwriting Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of underwriters while managing an individual book of business, the remote AVP, Underwriting Manager (Southeast) will drive profitable growth, maintain underwriting discipline, and collaborate with senior leadership and distribution partners to execute underwriting strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of underwriters to achieve production and profitability goals
• Manage and grow an individual book of business while ensuring underwriting quality and adherence to guidelines
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and distribution partners to drive new business opportunities

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience, preferably within E&S or specialty casualty lines
• Prior leadership or team management experience preferred
• Strong technical underwriting and portfolio management skills
• Proven ability to manage and grow a profitable book of business
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
