SOX Compliance Testing Analyst

Job Summary

To support enterprise-wide Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts, the contract SOX Controls Testing Analyst will execute controls testing, assess internal control effectiveness, and collaborate with various business stakeholders while working remotely, preferably within the Central Time Zone.

Key responsibilities

• Execute SOX controls testing across financial, operational, and business process areas
• Perform walkthroughs to assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
• Prepare audit workpapers and coordinate with external auditors for annual SOX compliance efforts

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or controls testing
• Strong understanding of SOX methodologies and internal controls
• Experience in publicly traded companies preferred
• Background in retail, financial services, or multi-location operations highly valued
• Ability to analyze processes and identify control gaps effectively
