Job Summary

As a full-time Specialty Business Reporter, the successful candidate will anchor coverage of jewelry industry news for a trade publication and website, producing high-visibility news stories and analytical articles while working in a hybrid environment that includes remote work and time in the New York City office.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and write balanced, factual news articles on jewelry industry topics, ensuring timely and well-sourced content for all media platforms
• Identify and develop stories that position the publication as a leading news provider in the jewelry sector, focusing on key areas such as diamonds, gemstones, and retail regulations
• Build relationships with industry professionals and engage with readers on social media to promote content initiatives and enhance audience interaction

Required qualifications

• Degree in journalism, communications, business, or a related field
• Minimum five years of journalism experience, including at least two years in business reporting related to jewelry or retail
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
• Solid understanding of search engine optimization, social media best practices, and ethical journalism
• Working knowledge of digital content management systems and generative AI tools
