Sponsored Projects Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Sponsored Projects Financial Operations, the full-time remote Sponsored Projects Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting and reporting operations, ensuring compliance with award terms and regulations while providing leadership and support to the financial analysts team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct day-to-day accounting and reporting operations, including sponsor billing and financial reporting
• Provide operational leadership and oversight for the SPFO Financial Analysts team, enhancing workflow efficiency and staff development
• Maintain hands-on expertise through direct management of complex sponsored awards, supporting quality assurance and audit readiness

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Five to seven years of relevant experience in sponsored projects accounting or financial reporting
• Strong understanding of Federal regulations and compliance requirements related to sponsored projects
• Leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to train and develop staff
• Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance and complex accounting systems, preferably WorkDay
