Staff AI Developer

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Staff AI Developer for a full-time remote role, responsible for defining and driving the technical direction of a grant research platform by shaping architecture, building critical systems, and implementing AI-powered features across multi-tenant cloud-native applications.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product to translate roadmap priorities into technical designs and delivery strategies
• Design and implement features across application, data, and infrastructure layers
• Own and evolve core platform architecture while making high-impact architectural decisions

Required qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior or Staff-level engineer in production SaaS or data platforms
• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails and strong hands-on experience with Python (FastAPI preferred)
• Experience with background processing systems and PostgreSQL schema design
• Familiarity with cloud-native, containerized environments and production API design
• Demonstrated AI-first development approach using LLMs and automation tools
