Staff AI Engineer

Job Summary

To tackle complex AI challenges in healthcare, the full-time remote Staff AI Engineer will design and implement agent systems for auditing medical claims, focusing on context engineering and evaluation rigor.

Key responsibilities

• Design agent systems from first principles, making architectural decisions based on data-driven insights
• Engineer context for prompts and outputs, ensuring effective interaction with AI tools
• Drive evaluation rigor by building assessments prior to agent development and diagnosing failures

Required qualifications

• 2-4 years of applied ML/AI engineering experience with a Bachelor's in CS, Math, Engineering, or equivalent, or a Master's in a similar program
• Strong proficiency in Python with a focus on clean abstractions and tested code
• Deep understanding of agent loops and their operational mechanics
• Hands-on experience with a major agent SDK, such as OpenAI Agents SDK or equivalent
• Fluency with Claude Code/Codex and a solid command of VS Code and git workflows
