Staff AI Engineer

Job Summary

To shape the core intelligence of an AI agent, the full-time Staff AI Engineer will design and scale backend systems, ensuring reliability and performance while driving product quality through user feedback in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Shape the agent's intelligence and behavior to effectively assist users in building applications
• Scale the backend service that powers the agent, maintaining performance and resilience as usage increases
• Drive the measurement and improvement of agent quality based on real-world usage insights

Required qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience in designing clean systems and shipping well-tested code
• Experience in building and operating scalable backend services, proficient in TypeScript and Python
• A track record of developing AI- or agent-powered products with sound judgment on applying LLMs to practical problems
• Strong product intuition for making decisions in ambiguous situations while balancing user needs and technical tradeoffs
• Passion for exploring AI coding tools and enhancing workflows through automation and creativity
