Staff AI Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the AI infrastructure layer, the full-time Staff AI Engineer will architect and operate agentic systems on AWS, evolve the AI knowledge platform, and design retrieval frameworks while working remotely in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Evolve the AI knowledge platform by enhancing retrieval, indexing, and synthesis layers for both internal and customer-facing tools
• Architect and operate agentic infrastructure, ensuring cost governance and observability for complex AI systems
• Design graph-based retrieval systems that enable multi-hop queries and accumulate organizational knowledge over time

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in production AI/LLM application systems
• Experience with advanced retrieval engineering techniques, including hybrid search and re-ranking
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript, with the ability to quickly adapt to new programming languages
• Hands-on experience with managed cloud AI platforms, preferably AWS Bedrock
• Familiarity with HIPAA data-handling requirements in a regulated SaaS environment
