Staff Android Engineer

Job Summary

Leading technical ownership of the Gateway Android app, the full-time Staff Android Engineer will manage mobile projects end-to-end, make architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and establish engineering practices while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and technical design of the Gateway Android app for Mobile Cardiac Telemetry
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product needs and scope
• Conduct code reviews and mentor other engineers to promote best practices in mobile development

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of mobile software development experience with a BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or 8+ years with an MS, including 3 years at a Senior or Staff level
• Deep expertise in Kotlin, Android Jetpack ecosystem, and modern UI frameworks like Jetpack Compose
• Experience architecting reliable mobile applications, including background execution and battery optimization
• Production experience with Bluetooth Low Energy on Android
• Demonstrated technical leadership in driving architecture and mentoring engineers
