Job Summary
Leading the technical strategy for Reddit's Video Ads, the full-time remote Staff Android Engineer will build and guide the development of innovative ad formats on Android, ensuring high performance and scalability while mentoring senior engineers across teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with Product and Design to develop a roadmap for transforming Video Ads into an industry-leading format
- Provide technical guidance and establish best practices for building scalable video ads and unique ad formats
- Drive the full development lifecycle from discovery and prototyping to testing and deployment
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3+ years in Android development using Kotlin
- Prior experience in Ad Tech, focusing on interactive and rich-media mobile experiences
- Strong product mindset with a proven track record of delivering user-facing features emphasizing UI polish and performance
- Experience navigating complex, data-intensive environments and building fault-tolerant client-side systems
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
