Staff Application Security Engineer
Job Summary
As the primary owner of the application security program, the full-time Staff Application Security Engineer will work remotely to embed secure development practices, enhance tooling and automation, and guide security considerations for new features and architectures.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the company's application security strategy and day-to-day operations
- Manage and optimize existing AppSec tooling and improve automation within CI/CD pipelines
- Build secure development standards and conduct security reviews with engineering teams
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Application Security, Product Security, or related engineering roles
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10)
- Experience with cloud-native applications, particularly in AWS
- Hands-on experience with SAST, DAST, WAFs, and mobile application security tools
- Ability to effectively partner with developers and influence secure design decisions
