Staff Applied AI Engineer

Job Summary

To push the frontier of applied AI in healthcare, the full-time Staff Applied AI Engineer will design, build, and ship machine learning and LLM systems that enhance clinician and patient interactions, working remotely and taking ownership of end-to-end problem-solving.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical strategy for multiple AI initiatives, influencing product and research direction
• Design, build, and improve advanced machine learning systems for patient and provider-facing products
• Develop robust evaluation frameworks and ensure models are safe, accurate, and improving over time

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of engineering experience with at least 2 years in building and deploying machine learning systems
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python or a comparable language
• Practical understanding of modern LLM techniques and their applications
• Experience working with real-world data and designing evaluations for system performance
