Staff Applied Scientist

Job Summary

Leading R&D efforts in a remote capacity, the full-time Staff Applied Scientist will develop and validate AI/ML models for perishable inventory control, focusing on complex decision-making challenges to enhance fresh food replenishment systems.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction for core replenishment R&D and align modeling roadmaps with business strategy
• Model complex inventory problems and implement multi-echelon inventory optimization solutions
• Drive changes from research to production, ensuring rigorous testing and scalable code development

Required qualifications

• MS or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of industry experience for MS holders; 4+ years for PhD holders
• Experience in large-scale decision-making systems under uncertainty
• Prior work in inventory optimization, supply chain management, or related fields is a plus
• Ability to deliver high-quality software implementations using the Python data stack
