Staff Applied Scientist

Job Summary

Leading research and development initiatives, the full-time remote Staff Applied Scientist will focus on enhancing AI/ML models for replenishment technology, addressing complex challenges in perishable inventory control and reducing food waste.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction for core replenishment R&D, defining the modeling roadmap across demand forecasting and inventory optimization
• Model complex inventory-related problems and implement solutions for multi-stage and multi-echelon inventory optimization
• Drive changes from research through production by writing rigorously tested and scalable code

Required qualifications

• MS or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• 8+ years of industry experience for MS holders; 4+ years for PhD holders
• Experience in systems supporting large-scale decision-making under uncertainty
• Prior knowledge in inventory optimization, supply chain management, or stochastic optimization is a plus
• Ability to deliver high-quality software implementations in the Python data stack
