Job Summary
Owning the core autonomy software stack for the drone platform, the full-time Staff Autonomy Engineer will lead the design and implementation of perception, localization, and scanning pipelines, working remotely or in Pittsburgh, PA.
Key responsibilities
- Own the autonomy software stack, including perception, localization, and inventory scanning pipelines on embedded compute
- Contribute to the architecture of the product autonomy stack as it scales to various vehicle types and customer configurations
- Design and implement algorithms for reliable detection and recording of inventory locations in dynamic warehouse environments
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in autonomy, robotics, or perception systems on physical hardware
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience on embedded or resource-constrained platforms
- Hands-on experience with computer vision pipelines in real-world environments
- Experience building and debugging software on deployed systems, including log-based diagnosis
- Ability to set technical direction and make architecture decisions at a Staff level
