Staff Backend Developer

Job Summary

Owning critical product components in a remote capacity, the full-time Staff Backend Developer will design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines while driving technical quality and mentoring engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery for significant features or systems, clarifying requirements and executing solutions
• Design and develop scalable backend services and data pipelines that support core product functionality
• Drive system design decisions, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of overall experience in software engineering, with 3+ years in product teams building production systems
• 5+ years of hands-on coding experience in Python and/or TypeScript, including API and service development
• Experience designing and scaling distributed systems in production environments
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD practices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
