Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to lead and evolve their backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and scale core systems, including backend services and data pipelines
• Lead authentication and identity infrastructure, managing SSO, SAML, and OIDC integrations
• Set technical direction through system design patterns, service boundaries, and long-term infrastructure strategy

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience at a Staff level or as a technical lead
• Deep expertise in SSO, SAML, and OIDC, with experience building identity and authentication systems
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in FastAPI or similar frameworks
• Knowledge of distributed systems design and database architecture
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
