Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Backend Engineer, Gatekeeper.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction for Gatekeeper, focusing on latency and reliability
• Design and implement routing and load balancing strategies across regions
• Own production operations for Gatekeeper, including incident response and post-incident follow-through

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience building and operating high-throughput backend systems in production
• Deep understanding of networking fundamentals and HTTP behavior
• Strong performance engineering skillset, including profiling and benchmarking
• Track record of leading cross-team projects and shipping durable systems
• Operational excellence with real on-call responsibility for services
