Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Backend Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture for IPC services and make design decisions for maintainability
• Design, build, and operate backend services using Python, Go, and a Java-based rules engine
• Lead cross-team technical initiatives and ensure production reliability through defined SLOs and observability improvements

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional backend software development experience at the Staff or Senior level
• Strong proficiency in Go and Python; Java experience is a plus
• Deep experience with distributed systems, microservices, and API design
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes and GCP
• Demonstrated experience with agentic AI coding tools integrated into daily workflow
