Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to design, build, and optimize backend systems for a low-latency ad platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services, including microservices and APIs for handling high volumes of requests
• Develop and maintain streaming data pipelines and event-driven systems for real-time data processing
• Ensure backend systems are performant and reliable, implementing fault-tolerance mechanisms and observability best practices

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a senior or lead role in AdTech or similar domains
• Proven experience in designing high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems
• Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed system design
• Proficiency in Java and Go for backend development, with experience in Python for scripting
• Hands-on experience with streaming data technologies like Apache Kafka and cloud platforms, preferably AWS
