Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to define and scale core systems for their B2B SaaS platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Own major areas of backend architecture, including APIs, distributed systems, and data models
• Design, build, test, deploy, and iterate on production systems with a focus on reliability and scalability
• Mentor engineers and drive technical direction for long-term architectural decisions

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or high-scale distributed systems
• Proven experience in designing and operating complex backend systems
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, and backend architecture patterns
• Strong proficiency with modern AI engineering workflows and tooling
• Experience building secure and fault-tolerant systems in production environments
