Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Staff Backend Engineer, the full-time remote position will focus on designing and building scalable backend systems, contributing to server-side development, and influencing technical decisions within a high-impact engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to backend server-side development to ensure application scalability, extensibility, and security
• Recognize and prioritize customer deliverables and technical debt to develop a sustainable software suite
• Design and architect complex frameworks for applying machine learning techniques to large data volumes

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of backend-focused experience in application programming and complex API development
• Strong working experience with Java or Scala; additional Rust experience is highly desired
• Proven experience in backend system design and architecture with a focus on scalability
• Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures and asynchronous programming
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
