Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To architect and build complex financial systems that process millions of dollars daily, the full-time Staff Backend Engineer will lead cross-domain solutions, drive technical decisions, and mentor junior engineers while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Architect critical financial systems for payment processing, fraud detection, and compliance
• Lead complex interactions between various systems, including payments and user management
• Drive architecture decisions and establish best practices for the engineering team

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with complex production systems
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience, including mentoring and architecture decisions
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
