Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To shape the technical direction of innovative solutions, the full-time Staff Backend Engineer will design, build, and deploy server application code while leading complex product initiatives and mentoring other engineers in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify strategic technical needs and collaborate with stakeholders to streamline product designs
• Take ownership of technical initiatives, managing execution, solution design, and progress reporting
• Lead incident responses and serve as a mentor and technical interviewer for engineering staff

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing web APIs within .NET (C#)
• Experience building resilient financial systems with complex lifecycles
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data-intensive applications
• Ability to balance immediate business needs with long-term architectural considerations
• Experience scaling consumer-facing products with significant transaction volumes
