Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Staff Backend Platform Engineer to set the technical direction for production backend systems in a remote capacity, focusing on architecture, engineering standards, and cross-functional initiatives that enhance the AI platform's capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for backend platform architecture, including integrations, data, messaging, and orchestration
• Drive cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with AI Engineering, Product, and Integrations leadership to shape platform strategy
• Define and evolve engineering standards for backend service design, data modeling, and operational excellence across the organization

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend platforms, integrations, or data infrastructure
• Proven experience deploying and operating production backend systems at scale
• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with FastAPI and Celery
• Deep experience with Postgres, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives from conception through production
