Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the technical evolution of a rapidly growing platform, the full-time remote Staff Backend Engineer will drive architecture and technical roadmaps for core backend services while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement scalable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the architecture and technical roadmap for core backend services
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable APIs and data processing pipelines
• Mentor engineers across teams and foster a culture of technical ownership

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with deep backend expertise
• Proven experience designing and evolving backend architecture at scale
• Strong knowledge of Node.js, NestJS (or similar), SQL, NoSQL, and distributed systems
• Strong leadership qualities capable of setting technical direction
• Clear, concise communication skills able to influence across functions and levels
