Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Driving the technical strategy and delivery of advanced serving systems, the remote Staff Backend Engineer will architect scalable solutions, optimize real-time APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance Host pricing functionality and model predictions.

Key responsibilities:

• Architect and lead the development of the serving ecosystem, ensuring APIs and data pipelines evolve with business needs
• Optimize real-time serving systems for low-latency, high-throughput API performance in production environments
• Collaborate with product engineers and cross-functional partners to develop new Host pricing features and analytics

Required qualifications:

• 9+ years of engineering experience with a BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven track record in leading teams and launching high-impact models
• Expertise in backend systems within large-scale service-oriented architectures
• Experience influencing cross-functional partners and engineering teams
• Strong problem-solving and production debugging skills
