Job Summary

Driving the technical strategy and delivery of Airbnb's pricing product roadmap, the full-time Staff Backend Engineer will architect scalable backend systems, optimize core pricing products, and collaborate with cross-functional teams remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead the technical strategy for pricing and availability backend systems, ensuring robust APIs, services, and data pipelines
• Lead the development and optimization of core pricing and availability products
• Collaborate with product engineers and cross-functional partners to develop new host pricing functionality and calendar management tools

Required qualifications

• 9+ years of engineering experience with a BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven track record of leading teams and launching high-impact product features
• Expertise with backend systems in large-scale service-oriented architectures
• Experience influencing cross-functional partners and engineering teams
• Good judgment in balancing short-term business needs with long-term technical quality
