Staff Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time Staff Backend Engineer, the successful candidate will lead the design of integrations for the Payment and Clearinghouse Platforms, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of financial transactions within a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement fault-tolerant integrations with third-party services, ensuring system reliability and correctness
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish technical direction and standards for backend systems
• Mentor and guide senior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and improving team engineering velocity

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in backend development using TypeScript and Python
• Experience with distributed systems and understanding of concurrency and idempotency challenges
• Demonstrated ability to define and deliver solutions for ambiguous problems in software development
• Strong background in building and maintaining scalable API architectures
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
