Staff Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing technology platform, the full-time Staff Backend Software Engineer will architect scalable solutions, drive feature development end-to-end, and collaborate with senior engineers in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and execute codebase improvements for efficient development and deployment
• Own features from backend systems to partner-facing surfaces, utilizing AI tooling as needed
• Collaborate with PMs and business partners to define and refine the technical roadmap

Required qualifications

• Experience in distributed system development, particularly in Scala
• Ability to direct AI agents and automated workflows effectively
• Strong product thinking focused on customer experience and quality architecture
• Experience designing guardrails and feedback loops for AI-assisted development
• Proven ability to articulate problem-solving approaches and trade-offs
