Staff Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

Joining a remote team, the full-time Staff Backend Software Engineer will lead the design of distributed systems using Java Spring Boot, ensuring reliable and scalable backend solutions that enhance dental practice management.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design and architecture of distributed systems and data models to support rapid scaling and feature expansion
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of major cross-functional product updates, ensuring high-impact features are deployed reliably
• Collaborate with product teams to integrate AI capabilities and oversee the integration between the backend and frontend systems

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience as a backend engineer with a strong emphasis on clean, quality code
• Experience with Java Spring Boot or similar frameworks
• Proven track record of successfully releasing high-traffic features or managing major platform migrations
• Deep understanding of leveraging AI tools while maintaining code quality and problem-solving capabilities
