Staff Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

To support a high-impact engineering team, the full-time remote Staff Cloud Engineer will define and own the multi-year cloud infrastructure strategy on Microsoft Azure, lead complex infrastructure initiatives, and mentor engineers while driving DevOps maturity through infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own Hone's multi-year cloud infrastructure strategy, focusing on reliability, security, and cost-efficiency
• Lead the architecture and delivery of complex infrastructure initiatives, including multi-region resilience and zero-trust networking
• Mentor and technically develop engineers, conducting architecture reviews and establishing organization-wide standards

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of cloud engineering or DevOps experience, with at least 5 years on Microsoft Azure in a production environment
• Deep, hands-on experience with Pulumi or equivalent IaC tooling, with the ability to design reusable module libraries
• Expert-level experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Mastery of core Azure services, including AKS, App Service, and Azure Networking
• Proficiency in multiple scripting languages for automation and platform engineering
