Staff Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

Functioning as a technical lead, the full-time remote Staff Cloud Engineer will evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to design and build a scalable cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, while mentoring other Cloud Engineers and collaborating with development teams to meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance bioinformatics and business systems
• Oversee end-to-end implementation of solutions in Microsoft Azure and mentor other Cloud Engineers
• Document systems and designs for future supportability while ensuring compliance with security policies

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience designing and supporting highly-available, 24x7 production systems
• Strong knowledge in Linux, networking, storage, and information security
• Experience with database administration (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in Azure or Amazon Web Services and application stack troubleshooting
• Demonstrated mentoring and leadership skills, with experience in healthcare use cases related to HIPAA and FDA considerations
