Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

Staff Data Engineer is a full-time remote position in Canada, responsible for leading data engineering efforts, mentoring team members, and managing complex data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead, setting standards for code quality and system design
• Own and manage complex data engineering problems from architecture to deployment
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering with large-scale data pipelines
• Deep proficiency in Scala and expert-level experience with Apache Spark
• Strong system design and architecture skills
• Experience with ETL pipelines and data infrastructure in production environments
• Track record of mentoring engineers and improving team technical quality
