Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

Functioning as a technical leader in a remote full-time capacity, the Staff Data Engineer will manage cross-application projects for datastores, provide technical expertise in data flow strategies, and guide the selection of appropriate datastore technologies to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of data flow strategies and define storage needs for microservices
• Manage projects emphasizing security, data governance, and platform migrations across applications
• Consult on database design and optimize performance for application datastores

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in designing datastores and data architectures for scalable systems
• Strong experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres, and event-driven applications
• Deep expertise in schema design, indexing, and query optimization
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience with multiple data technologies, including document databases and analytics platforms
