Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Staff Data Engineer for a full-time remote position, this role will define data strategy, design scalable data platforms, and mentor junior engineers while driving modernization efforts in data governance and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define data architecture and platform strategy, leading design across pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes
• Build and optimize scalable data pipelines supporting batch and real-time processing
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with leadership on data strategy and platform best practices

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional data engineering experience with complex data platform initiatives
• Expert proficiency in Python, Scala, and SQL
• Strong expertise with cloud-native data platforms and enterprise data warehousing
• Experience with streaming platforms and real-time data processing (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis)
• Demonstrated leadership and technical mentoring experience across a team or organization
