Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing data team, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will architect and evolve the data platform for reliability and scalability while working remotely primarily during Pacific Time hours.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and evolve the data platform for scale and reliability
• Define and implement advanced platform engineering test practices, including automated data integrity checks
• Act as a technical leader and mentor for the data engineering team, ensuring high standards for system design

Required qualifications

• Significant experience designing and operating high-scale, distributed data platforms
• Strong experience with SQL and data modeling in modern cloud data warehouses
• Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and dbt for transformation
• Experience with data ingestion tools such as Fivetran or similar ELT platforms
• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and improving technical standards
