Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

As a technical lead on the Distribution Center Solutions team, the full-time remote Staff Data Engineer will design and implement ETLs to process large volumes of customer data, optimize data integrations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize robust ETLs using PySpark and DBT for large-scale customer datasets
• Define the technical vision for DC data architecture and mentor engineers while managing external contractors
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and applied science teams to deliver data solutions addressing customer data quality challenges

Required qualifications

• Significant experience designing and maintaining ETLs for large-scale datasets
• Proficiency with Python, PySpark, SQL, and experience with tools like Databricks, Snowflake, or DBT
• 2+ years in a technical lead role, with a focus on mentoring and team development
• Experience working with complex, unclean datasets and finding innovative processing solutions
• A strong ability to balance technical rigor with practical outcomes
