Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

To establish foundational data architecture, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will design and implement data pipelines, model payments data, and ensure data quality and security in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the data platform by setting the warehouse/lakehouse direction and establishing a reliable data lake
• Build and manage batch and streaming data pipelines to ensure accurate data movement from production systems
• Define and maintain canonical datasets and models, ensuring data quality and compliance with regulatory standards

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building production data systems and owning architectural decisions
• Expertise in SQL and strong proficiency in Python
• Deep experience with modern lakehouse/warehouse ecosystems, such as Snowflake or Databricks
• Strong data modeling skills, including dimensional and normalized models
• Experience with pipeline orchestration tools and major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
