Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

As a technical leader in data systems, the full-time remote Staff Data Engineer will shape technical direction across warehouse and application-facing systems, strengthen data governance, and guide datastore decisions while collaborating with engineering and analytics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Set architectural direction and raise engineering standards through hands-on partnership and guidance
• Enhance Snowflake governance and improve data validation processes to increase release confidence across systems
• Lead datastore initiatives and provide clarity on data ownership and service boundaries across platforms

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, operational datastores, or data architecture
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake in production, including governance and performance management
• Strong expertise in relational databases, particularly Postgres, including schema design and optimization
• Experience with microservices and event-driven systems, preferably Kafka and Debezium
• Proven ability to influence teams and improve engineering practices in complex environments
