Staff Data Engineer
Job Summary
Operating remotely, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will design, build, and evolve data systems using Snowflake, focusing on high-impact data pipelines, platform capabilities, and technical leadership to enhance data governance and quality across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Design and own high-impact data pipelines and platform primitives across ingestion, storage, transformation, and consumption
- Implement data governance and build a data observability practice to ensure data quality and compliance
- Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet evolving data requirements
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles with a proven track record of shipping production data infrastructure
- Expert-level proficiency in Snowflake, including schema design and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with modern data transformation practices, particularly with Coalesce or similar tools
- Strong fundamentals in data modeling and experience building layered architectures at scale
- Production experience with data governance and observability practices, including incident response and SLA definition
