Staff Data Engineer
Job Summary
As the senior technical leader for our data platform, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will own the architecture and reliability of data pipelines, mentor engineers, and build scalable systems in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the data platform, including ingestion, data warehousing, and transformation layers
- Lead design and code reviews, mentoring team members to enhance engineering quality and discipline
- Develop and maintain robust data ingestion pipelines across various sources, ensuring reliability and observability
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience building data platforms and pipelines in production
- Expertise in cloud data warehousing (e.g., BigQuery), dbt, and modern ingestion tools
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with familiarity in CI/CD and version control
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure management on platforms like GCP or AWS
